MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Sunbury Press has released The Small Book of Practical Wisdom for Regular People by Terry Ray.

About the Book:
“There is a vast ocean of information available today …and barely a drop of Wisdom.”

case5.000x8.000.inddYou will not find any ancient Chinese wisdom nor mysterious quotes from The Tibetan Book of the Dead in this book. The practical insights found here are 100 original sayings by the author. Reminiscent of a modern day Mark Twain, Terry Ray’s wisdom and wit grew out of the experiences of his chaotic, adventurous, happy, tragic, confusing, loving, brokenhearted, betrayed, accomplished, failed, successful, unpredictable life.

The author’s autobiography in bullet points:

• Born and raised in a four room mill house heated by a small coal stove
• One big mean older brother, two cold unloving unhappy parents
• Bizarre number of deaths surrounding childhood
• Life on the streets, other eccentric neglected boys, games, fights, trouble, arrests
• Smart, no direction, athletic, considered cute by the girls, paid off well
• Surprise escape from neighborhood via full athletic scholarship
• Unhappy, dropped out of college, wandered a year in Europe alone
• Back to college, summers hitch hiked U.S., surprisingly graduated with decent grades
• War, military pilot, injured, hospitals, many lost buddies, medical discharge
• Married, kids, master’s degree, law degree
• Elementary school teacher, trial lawyer, estate planner, law professor, novelist
• Several divorces, nine kids, bankrupt, welfare, financial success, some fame
• US Congress run, radio talk show host, morning TV personality
• Stage actor, director, singer, tap dancer, bit parts in movies
• Met four U.S. presidents, ten grandchildren, excellent cook
• Last living member of my original family, watercolor artist, skilled builder
• Cheated death too many times, odds are rising against
• Comedian, single, live alone, visit kids and grandkids, love them
• Still athletic, play football, baseball, basketball with kids, still boxing
• Kind of happy, laugh a lot, cry sometimes, always singing
• Go on many adventures looking for myself

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Sunbury Press has released “Return to the Valley,” Terry Ray’s fifth installment in “The Crossers” series.

About the Book:
crossers5_fcReturn to the Valley picks up the story, ten years after the conclusion of the epic American Classic Series, Crossing the Valley. The main character, Marty Chapman, has settled into a happy, normal, family life as a college professor in a small town in Kansas and seems to have finally found contentment. As in the original series, however, Marty is not destined for such a life.

This continuing epic, once again, traverses the complete spectrum of human emotions and life experiences that will leave the reader transfixed and in awe.

This story winds its way through romantic love and family bliss, to the revealing inside story of the treacherous, back-stabbing, real world of university faculty, to pure evil, blackmailing co-eds, homicide and the anatomy of a sensational murder trial, to heroism and betrayal, and the evolution of a new and quickly growing religion that is changing the world forever.

If you are the type of reader who wants to become thoroughly engrossed in a novel and left pondering some of the fundamental questions of life and death, Return to the Valley will wonderfully fulfill your reading niche.

May 15, 2004
With his eyes on the sidewalk, Marty Chapman quickly crossed the quad and entered Watson Hall. His stomach was churning emptiness into nausea, having not contained food since yesterday at noon. He climbed to the third floor then walked the worn corridor carpet to Ken Broderick’s office. He was dizzy from anxiety and lack of sleep and was experiencing a disconcerting out-of-body sensation. Ken looked up from his newspaper and was taken aback by Marty’s appearance as he passed through the open door.

“Jesus, Marty . . . you look like shit . . . what’s the matter?”

Marty didn’t respond with his usual sardonic retort but instead moved in silence to his designated lunch-hour-chat chair. He sat down and stared between his feet at the beige, coffee-stained rug for a few seconds, then looked up at Ken with nervous eyes. Ken waited for Marty to speak. He didn’t. He kept licking his lips and trying to swallow. After a few more long seconds, Ken spoke.

“What happened, Marty?”

Marty’s gaze intensified with alternating shades of guilt, shame, and fear. Without answering, he walked over to the open door and closed it. After doing so, he paused and took a few deep breaths through his nose, then, with a lowered head, humped shoulders, and hands in his pockets, he returned to his chair and swallowed a few more times in an attempt to lubricate his dry throat. He looked up at the ceiling, with his head moving side to side then, lowering his face, he looked directly at Ken and crossed his arms across his chest to hug himself. Ken could see he was quivering. Marty felt very sick.

“Oh Jesus, Ken . . . oh Jesus.”

“What . . . what is it?”

“Oh man . . . what am I gonna do . . . what am I gonna do?”

Marty was rocking forward and back in his chair and speaking more to himself than to Ken, so Ken waited in silence for the continuation of the soliloquy. It resumed after a rather long silence.

MECHANICSBURG, Pa.Sunbury Press has released Terry Ray’s study of the orange orb UFO phenomenon entitled The Complete Story of the Worldwide Invasion of the Orange Orbs.

oo fcAbout the Book:
Terry Ray is a certified Field Investigator for the Mutual Unidentified Flying Object Network, known as MUFON. He is a former military pilot and trial lawyer, retired law professor emeritus, and a novelist for Sunbury Press.

On the evening of July 29, 2013 in Ocean City Maryland, Terry witnessed eight large orange orbs flying very low and silently along the beach. They performed maneuvers that no Earth-made aircraft could possibly perform, in complete silence.

Terry filed a report of his sighting with MUFON. When he met with his fellow MUFON investigators and related his story, he was met with laughter and told that what he saw was nothing more than candle-lit Chinese lanterns.

As a former military pilot, Terry knew this explanation could not be true and set about to find out what it was he actually saw that night. This led to a year-long, intensive investigation and, ultimately, to the writing of this book. In this book, Terry details the stunning story of the orange orbs that is going on all over the world at this very moment and to a discovery of what could be the biggest event in the history of the human race.

The Complete Story of the Worldwide Invasion of the Orange Orbs breaks entirely new ground in UFO research and could be the most important book in this field since Erich von Daniken’s, 1968, Chariots of the Gods.

PART THREE: What and Why?
Chapter One – What?
Chapter Two – Why?

At approximately 10:00 – 10:15 PM, the witness noticed a small round orange light to the north that appeared to be quite low over the ocean surface at approximately 100 – 300 feet in altitude, near the shore and above the ocean surface, moving on a southerly course toward the witness at a rather rapid rate of speed. Within approximately 10 seconds, the light had reached the size of a full moon and was very bright—the brightness and color approximated the coloring and intensity of a setting sun. The witness had binoculars and focused them on the light. With magnification, the object appeared to be a glowing orange sphere with uniform color and brightness. The color was soft and muted and emanated from the interior of the sphere. The sphere was pleasant and soothing to the eye. There were no other lights or visible characteristics appearing on the sphere. It was entirely silent.

The sphere was approximately five to ten miles north of the witness when it reached its maximum size as it stopped several hundred feet above the ocean surface and remained stationary for a short period of time. The sphere then began moving in an easterly direction, straight out to sea, and it diminished in size as its distance from the witness increased. It continued on its easterly course for approximately ten to fifteen seconds until its size appeared to be that of a very large star. At this point, the sphere commenced a straight climb of approximately forty-five degrees on a southerly heading. The climb was rapid and it leveled off at approximately 10,000 feet. It then continued straight and level on its southerly heading. The angle of inclination of the sphere from the witness, at this point, was approximately thirty degrees above the horizon. The sphere continued on its level southerly course for close to ten seconds, then turned to a south-easterly heading in the general direction of the thunderstorm and continued on this course until it was no longer visible, due to the increased distance from the witness.

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Sunbury Press has released the bestsellers list for June, 2014. John Cressler’s novel “Shadows in the Shining City” led the way.

About Shadows in the Shining City

sitsc_fcThe Golden Age of Moorish Spain was during the 10th century, a time when the benevolent Syrian Arab Caliphs ruled Iberia from Córdoba, the site of the iconic Great Mosque and home to the Royal Library, one of the largest collections of ancient books ever assembled. 10th century Córdoba was the richest, most populous, and most cultured city in the western world. Under the tolerant Muslim Caliphs, the pinnacle of convivencia was attained, that unique period of Spanish history when Muslims, Jews and Christians lived together in relative harmony and peace. Multicultural Córdoba was an enlightened city that treasured its books, celebrated art and literature, advanced science and medicine, and its myriad accomplishments were envied by both the west and the east alike.

Shadows in the Shining City is a prequel to Emeralds of the Alhambra, and the second book in the Anthems of al-Andalus Series. Shadows tells the story of the forbidden love between Rayhana Abi Amir, a Muslim princess of the Royal Court, and Zafir Saffar, a freed slave. Young love blossoms in 10th century Madinat al-Zahra, the Shining City, the Caliph’s magnificent Royal Palace located just outside of Córdoba. Their love story is set against the backdrop of the epic rise to power of Rayhana’s ruthless father, a man history will come to both celebrate and revile for the role he plays in dooming the bright future of Moorish Spain.

revolt_fcMECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Sunbury Press has released the bestseller list for May, 2014. Terry Ray’s novel “Revolt!” led the way.

About Revolt!

Jihad arrives on American shores. The President lacks the courage to effectively confront the terrorists and would rather negotiate and capitulate than fight. The court system allows terrorists, represented by the ACLU, to use our own constitutional rights to tighten the noose around America’s neck.

It becomes clear that a terrorist victory is almost certain unless Americans are freed of a federal government that refuses to protect them and a court system that aids and abets the enemy.

When the U.S. military is unsuccessful in convincing the president to change course and engage the enemy in a state of war, the patient American people face the most fundamental question every country must answer at some moment its history – What are we willing to do to save our beloved homeland?

After much heart-wrenching discussion and debate, Americans finally decide. They must . . .  Revolt!

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Sunbury Press has released Terry Ray’s latest novel GXM731 about the aliens who battle to protect the Earth.

About the Book:

Astronomers are now discovering Earth-like planets on a daily basis.  That we are alone in the universe is now a much bigger leap of faith than to accept that we are but one of countless races among the galaxies.

There are races more primitive than Earthlings and races far more advanced. The advanced races travel the universe.  They visit many galaxies, including the Milky Way.  They have been visiting Earth for a very long time.

To think that advanced races are grotesque beings with Neanderthal-like brains … bent upon killing other races in the universe, is to think as a child.  Along with sentience comes pathos – knowing of your own existence, and the agony and ecstasy that accompanies such knowledge.

The sentient races of the universe – Earthlings among them – ponder the origins of their existence and thus, God.  They love, hate, are bored, make love and war, lie, cheat, steal, create art, like to eat and sleep, play, dance, write stories, have pets and houses, tell jokes and laugh, mourn their dead, are curious and like to learn, are afraid sometimes, are lonely sometimes, like to sing.  They are afraid of death – and what comes after.

GXM731 is a space story of the real races of the universe, in all their glory and failings.

About the Author:
Terry Ray is a member of MUFON and is the author of “The Crossers” series published by Sunbury Press.

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Terry Ray’s new series, “The Crossers”, just released by Sunbury Press, tells the epic story of a new religion forming in the northwestern United States. There are currently four books in the series, with more planned.

519+ToMmPfL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_Book One: The Man in the Mountain

This American epic adventure begins with a young, insecure magazine writer on an assignment to locate still-existing Hippie communes that, allegedly, have survived since the sixties. The trail leads to the remote mountains of Montana. Marty Chapman could not possibly have imagined that this trip would turn his life upside-down and send shock waves throughout the entire world.

His chance encounter with a mountain man who has lived alone in the magnificent, Alp-like wilderness for fifty of his seventy years, leads not only to Marty finding the father-figure he has always yearned for but to a mystery that old Art has kept secret for many years and grudgingly reveals to Marty.

Together, they come up with a plan to crack the secret and end-up finding something that is, literally, beyond belief. It is so mind-altering that Marty’s father-figure dies from the shock and Marty is left trying to maintain his sanity while coping with something that that is so overwhelming, he cannot allow himself to even consider the possibility it could be real.

ISBN: 9781620062975  Price: $16.95

41J4apd6KPL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_Book Two: The Circle

There are many roads leading to hell and the members of the inner-circle follow their unique paths to misery, oblivion, and hopelessness – before they begin their long and hard journey back to the light.

With the exception of one, they are all just ordinary people, like you and me, who face the same torments in life, as do all human beings. The reader will have experienced many of the same life tragedies, as do these ordinary souls of the inner circle, and will feel their anguish as their paths draw them toward the darkness . . . and will think, “There, but for the grace of God, go I.”

Only one story ends in happiness and self-satisfaction. John basks in the glow of the world he has built. His insatiable, unfeeling greed, sets in motion an unstoppable juggernaut, paving his way to power, fame, and wealth by crushing countless, innocent souls beneath its path. Readers will know this man. He has, at one time or another, crossed the path of all our lives.

Book Two of the Crosser’s Series will be as a mirror to the readers – in which they will, somewhere, see themselves. You will compelled, from time to time, to put down your book and simply ponder.

By this epic journey’s end, you may very well emerge a different, stronger, and happier person than when the journey began. You will never forget the people who walked by your side, nor the lessons you have learned along the twists and turns.

She is open, trusting, and unafraid while Marty is skeptical of all things and all people and he lives with an ever present sense fear, yet, somehow, they have found what they need, in one another.
